Last week we wrote about the LG 100 inch LCD TV that is set for mass production and has been deemed by the Guiness Book of World Records as the largest! This week we’re still sticking with LCD displays, but we’re scaling back a bit and switching from TVs to monitors.  The reason? Sanyo has recently unveiled their 42 inch LCD monitor, and what makes it unique is that fact that it is weatherproof.  Simply the fact that it’s weatherproof tells you it’s meant for the outdoors!

The cost has been rumored to be around three times the price of any standard 42 inch LCD display. It is capable for using even with dusty, humid, and other questionable environments. The obvious common uses will be for courtyards and pools, however it is really capable of being installed just about anywhere.

This monitor is high definition, and could possibly change  how gamers operate! Instead of sitting in the house all day, gamers will be able to move their addiction outside and continue to play on their weatherproof display.

A few additional specs:

  • Brightness: 500cd/m2
  • Resolution: 1366X878
  • Viewing angle of 178 degrees
