Dallas Cowboys Fire Coach, Forget to Renew Domain Name

cowboys_domain.jpg

This has been a week full of changes for the Dallas Cowboys–turnovers, if you will. First there was the fact that the team  fired its head coach, Wade Philips, on Monday. And then the company’s domain name expired.

The timing was impeccable, really–when fans flocked to the site to read about the news of his replacement (interim coach Jason Garrett, for those keeping track), they got a placeholder from domain registrar Network Solutions prompting them to renew the site. It’s an unfortunate oversight for most heavily trafficked officially sponsored NFL page after NFL.com.

It’s also the latest bit of bad news in what has already been a rough year for the Texas football team, which is currently 1-7
