This nifty tape measure has been likened by some to the iPod, and with the white case and clickwheel-alike controls its easy to see why. But hidden under the design "homage" (plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery) is a rather useful upgrade to the analog tape measure.
It works just like any other tape measure. Complete, we expect, with an eye-gouging, quick-spring retraction. Unlike other measures, it gives a readout of the distance on the top LCD display, in both metric and the more stately imperial system, right down to 1/16th inch. For the forgetful, it also has a memory function to record measurements and you can even add the length of the body for those tight corners.
Our only worry is build quality. If it’s built like a toy, it will be useless. If it’s rugged enough to survive a dunk in a cup of over-sugared, milky British builder’s tea, we’re in. $25.
