Zynga, the company behind the wildly popular iPhone/Facebook game FarmVille is finally ready to show the world CityVille, the next logical step in the company’s social simulation offerings, which also includes FishVille and June’s FrontierVille.
The game lets users build and run a city. It all sounds a bit like another city simulation–what was that one called again? Users build roads, stores, restaurants, schools, and post offices, all while attempting to keep their residents happy with the quality of life.
Like FarmVille before it, there’s a social aspect to CityVille users can sell and trade goods and can take trips to neighboring cities. The city advisor feature shows players how to expand and grow their metropolis.
The game marks Zynga’s first global launch, according to the company. The game will be available through Facebook in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish through the CityVille.com site. The game will be rolled out in beta over the next few weeks. Interested parties should like the app to get updates from the company.
