Back in the day, we’re sure many gamers were familiar with GameSpy and its services. Now back in 2013, the company announced that they would no longer be accepting new games and now according to a post by the service’s parent company, Glu Mobile, it seems that GameSpy will be shutting its doors for good on the 31st of May 2014.
According to the note, it reads that “effective May 31, 2014, GameSpy will cease providing all hosting services for all games still using GameSpy. Thanks for a great ride!” What this means is that there will hundreds of game titles that will be affected by this closure, but since GameSpy announced that it would stop accepting new games last year, hopefully these companies have prepared themselves for an eventual shutdown.
