WhatsApp is proving itself to be an extremely popular instant messenger app. Recent stats revealed that the company processes about 64 billion messages a day which is a lot of messages being sent and received by its users. It could also explain why Facebook might be interested in the company and were willing to pay an eye-watering $19 billion for it.
Now it seems that WhatsApp’s popularity and its ubiquity have resulted in a German carrier creating a special prepaid SIM card that will give users unlimited access to WhatsApp on top of data limits. What this means is that you will be able to send and receive WhatsApp messages without it eating into your regular data which would make it great for power users and for tourists traveling to Germany but would like to keep in touch with friends and family with the app. (more…)
