Japanese storage company I-O Data has unveiled the new HDCA-UT4.0K external HDD. Available in a 1TB, a 2TB or a 3TB of storage capacity, this external HDD supports USB 3.0 SuperSpeed interface and TV DVR capabilities. Measuring 39mm x 185mm x 120mm and weighing 1.1 kg, it can also be mounted using a VESA compliant mounting kit. The I-O Data HDCA-UT4.0K is compatible with most TVs that have USB recording technology, allowing you to record your favorite TV program. In addition, the drive features a power-management mode that powers itself on/off along with the TV. I-O Data will release the HDCA-UT4.0K external HDD later this month for 38,850 Yen ($496).
