Instagram Will Soon Translate Captions And Profiles Automatically

Instagram recently announced that it reached the 500 million user milestone. It’s a truly global service now that’s used by hundreds of millions of people across the globe to share photos and videos. Obviously, not all of them speak the same language but that doesn’t mean the language barrier should prevent people from enjoying the public content. Instagram has said that it’s going to start translating profiles and captions automatically soon.

The Facebook-owned company has said that in the coming month, users will start seeing a translation button on captions and profile bios that are written in languages different from their own.

This will make it very simple and easy to understand those captions and profile bios without having to copy and paste them into some other translation service like Google or Bing Translate. The translation will be done automatically within the app itself.

All profile bios, captions, and even comments will be supported by this feature. Whenever any of those things are in a language different from users you will see the translation button that’s going to make it easier for you to understand what’s written.

Instagram is yet to confirm precisely when this feature is going to be released and which languages will be supported by it at launch.
