Joseph O’Brien, Illinois Sex Offender, Arrested For Loitering In McDonald’s Children’s Play Area

An Illinois man registered as a sexual predator by the state was arrested earlier this month after he was caught loitering inside the children’s play area of a McDonald’s restaurant near suburban Elk Grove Village.

Joseph O’Brien, 36, was arrested on Dec. 22 after the restaurant’s manager called in a complaint to police, the Daily Herald reports. He has been charged with criminal trespassing and failing to update his address to police.

According to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, O’Brien had reportedly been staring at an 11-year-old girl inside the play area and had been asked to leave the restaurant on several other occasions, CBS Chicago reports.
