Lea Michele: ‘Glee’ Tribute Episode To Finn Was ‘Therapeutic’

Lea Michele opened up about the “Glee” tribute episode dedicated to the late Cory Monteith and his character Finn Hudson.

“For me personally, I’ve lost two people: Cory and Finn,” Michele told TV Week Australia. “We had a beautiful memorial for Cory in the auditorium and some of the cast members sang and people spoke about him. It only felt right that we would do the same thing for Finn, so I felt it was very therapeutic.”

The episode, titled “The Quarterback,” will feature the “Glee” characters dealing with Finn’s death. Following Monteith’s death, “Glee” co-creator Ryan Murphy said he struggled with how to move forward and even toyed with ending “Glee” entirely. However, Michele told him they should carry on and the tribute episode took shape. Michele said they did an episode “because it was something we all needed to do together.”
