A 3G cellphone watch anyone? The LG GD910 that puts a phone inside a wrist watch is reportedly the latest from the company to head to the production line.
The phone-watch combination sports a 1.43-inch touchscreen, 7.2 Mbps HSDPA compatibility and
a camera to capture both still shots and video.
It also has a MP3 player, Bluetooth capability and can support text-to-speech commands.
The phone will likely be at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month. Pricing for it hasn’t been announced though reports suggest it will be available in Europe and Korea initially.
LG is not the first to attempt the wrist-watch form factor of the phone. Earlier this year, an Australian company SMS Technology launched the M300 cellphone watch priced at around $300.
That you haven’t heard of it shows that the device may not be for everyone. Maybe like the watch-radio combo popularized by Dick Tracy, it is best left inside the comics pages.
