I spent a significant portion my spare time playing games at arcades back in my youth. These days, I enjoy playing classic arcade games on a custom-built MAME cabinet I have in my mancave. But for those of you who prefer to play modern gaming systems rather than old ones, here’s a place to hang out while you get your joystick on.
The guys at French design studio Harow came up with this clever idea for a small sofa that looks like a classic arcade cabinet. The angular shapes, wood sides, and plastic-trimmed edges are spot on. But your lazy bones take the place of the game itself.
Each sofa is built to order, and measures 125 cm x 110 cm x 150 cm (~49″ x 43″ x 59″.) You can order them in custom sizes too. They’re made from recycled wood with steel legs, and soft velvet cushions, which look great – at least until you get your Cheetos and Doritos dust on them.
They can be ordered up with a variety of cool designs, ranging from ’90s arcade fighters, to cartoon characters, to some sweet ’80s style graphics clearly inspired by the movie Drive. Drop by the Harow website to check out all of the designs. There’s no word yet on pricing.
