Melissa McCarthy has a few words for all the people out there hating on the “Ghostbusters” reboot.
In an interview with The Guardian, the actress addressed all the criticism the film has faced, especially in relation to its female-led cast. Both director Paul Feig and fellow Ghostbuster Leslie Jones have already spoken out about the backlash.
“All those comments — ‘You’re ruining my childhood!’ I mean, really,” McCarthy said, adding, “Four women doing any movie on earth will destroy your childhood?”
She continued, “I have a visual of those people not having a Ben [her husband], not having friends, so they’re just sitting there and spewing hate into this fake world of the Internet. I just hope they find a friend.”
We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.
Besides, McCarthy is too busy being the third-highest earning actress in Hollywood to dwell on the haters.
