A few days ago, Minecraft’s creator, Markus “Notch” Persson announced that the game for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset would be cancelled following Facebook’s acquisition of Oculus VR. The reason? Apparently Facebook creeps him out.
However was this a smart decision by Notch? After all some expected that with Facebook backing the device, Minecraft for the Oculus Rift could have gone on to make a lot of money for Notch and Mojang, but apparently this wasn’t his intention in the first place. (more…)
