NCAA Strips Miami Football Of 9 Scholarships Over 3 Years Without Bowl Game Ban: REPORT

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) — A person familiar with the situation tells The Associated Press that Miami will lose nine football scholarships over three years as part of the penalties in the Nevin Shapiro booster scandal. The Hurricanes also will be able to go to a bowl this season.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the NCAA report was not being publicly released until 10 a.m. EDT. WQAM, the school’s athletic flagship radio station, first reported the scholarship losses.
