NEC Creates A Flexible Battery That Charges In 30 Seconds

NEC announced an exciting foray into the world of bendy things today, with the revelation of their development of a 0.3mm thick flexible battery technology, that can also (allegedly) recharge in about 30 seconds. NEC sees it being used in the future for self-powered IC cards and powering electronic paper in as discreet a manner as possible. A real breakthrough in battery technology, and I definitely like the idea of being able to stumble into a taxi a drunken, shambling mess and simply hold up my SELF-POWERED TALKING ID CARD which tells the taxi driver how to get me home.
