According to Samsung, they believe Tizen is a “simple alternative” to Android. Odd choice of words given that Samsung’s success can largely be attributed to Google’s Android operating system, but we guess due to reports of Samsung looking to reduce their reliance on Google’s Android platform for the future, the South Korean tech giant will be looking to launch Tizen-based devices in the future to help offer an alternative.
Based on the rumors, Samsung’s first Tizen smartphones are expected to debut this February, and according to a new report from a Japanese magazine, Mainichi, Japanese carrier NTT DOCOMO has reportedly confirmed that Samsung’s Tizen devices will be available in March, presumably following their announcement in February.
