Orange and T-Mobile UK Look Toward Merger
Posted in: t-mobile, Today's Chili, ukThe UK may be getting itself one giant mobile provider–that is, if plans for a merger between two of its largest carriers go through. Orange and T-Mobile are looking to join forces, a deal that would give the providers a combined 28.4 million customers–about 30-percent of the market. Combined, the provider would be the country’s largest, overtaking O2.
The deal is planned to be signed in November. Both companies assure users (and, more importantly, the government) that such a merger would “bring substantial benefits to UK customers.”
If approved, the combined company would have a revenue of $13.5 billion.
