The new Pioneer BDR-S08J Blu-ray writer series is available in three models, which are based on the bezel color. Available in a matte white (BDR-S08J-W), a piano black (BDR-S08J-BK), or a rubberized black (BDR-S08J-KR), the Blu-ray writer comes in the standard 5.25-inch form-factor. All models support SATA 3 Gb/s interface with a 4 MB cache. The Pioneer BDR-S08J Blu-ray writer series is able to write Blu-ray disc (BD) -R at 15X, BD-R double-layer at 14X, BR-R triple-layer at 8X, BD-R quadruple-layer at 6X, single-, dual- and triple-layer BD-RE at 6X; DVDs at 16X, and CDs at 40X. Each purchase comes bundled with Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 and Cyberlink PowerDirector 9. The Pioneer BDR-S08J Blu-ray writer drive series is also compatible with the Microsoft Windows 8 operating system. Pioneer will release the BDR-S08J Blu-ray writer series in mid-November 2012.
