Reports of a security breach at Los Angeles International Airport prompted officials to evacuate hundreds of travelers from the facility late Sunday evening.
The LA Airport Police Department said reports of an active shooter at the airport were unconfirmed, but law enforcement officials were on the scene.
NBC’s Lester Holt tweeted that he had just landed at LAX before people started “pouring out of [terminal] 4.” Holt said security personnel told travelers there were “shots fired.”
