The idea of being under water for more than 5 minutes seems kind of terrifying to me. Drowning is a common fear, even for those who are fully equipped to go diving. Having an air tank being your direct life line might be a bit too overwhelming for some. There are many who prefer to go snorkeling, but wish that they could stay under for just a bit longer.
In those cases, the PowerSnorkel might not be a bad idea. Well, it’s called the Power Snorkel Hookah, which sounds a bit strange. While I know what a hookah is, the great and almighty Wikipedia defines it as “a single or multi-stemmed instrument for vaporizing and smoking flavored tobacco called shisha in which the vapor or smoke is passed through a water basin ‒ often glass-based ‒ before inhalation”. Now, this unit has nothing to do with smoking, but it does have two stems from which you will be inhaling.
This will allow you to dive down 6 meters with a friend for anywhere from 50-70 minutes off of one charge. The pump and tank both float on the water, so everyone will be able to see where you are. You won’t need any fancy training to give this a go, and setup time is only 2-3 minutes. If you want one of these for yourself, it will cost somewhere around $2,800. This will get you the compressor unit, snorkel with flag, 2 regulators with dive harnesses, a battery with connection lead, Y-piece, and a carrying bag. Going off of assumptions, this will likely do best in calm waters.
