Remember that new PlayStation 3 motion controller that was announced back in June at E3, as all the other major console manufacturers (i.e. Nintendo and Microsoft) announced their own new motion controllers? Well, the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Kazuo Hirai announced today in an interview that, “we are slating [the PS3 Motion Controller] for spring of next year.”
The controller is the next step in a process kickstarted with the PS3 Slim, which is aimed at invigorating the console, which hasn’t exactly being flying off the shelves compared to the Xbox 360 and Wii. “It’s something that we’ve been working on for the longest time,” Hirai said about the controller, which admittedly looked fairly impressive from where I was sitting during the Sony press conference.
