Guatemalan singer and songwriter Ricardo Arjona has embarked on a tour through the United States to draw attention to families separated by immigration laws.
According to the Associated Press, with an event held in Phoenix on Thursday, Arjona kicked off the “Tour to Keep Families Together.” The initiative that will be running through the week aims to help create awareness about the issues that affect immigrants without legal residence in the United States.
As part of the concert, the artist also paid tribute to his mother who was “the first undocumented person he met in his life,” after she moved from Guatemala to the city of New York in search of paying a “demonic debt,” the Associated Press reports.
