Rush Limbaugh Says 'Black Uncle Tom Voters' Boosted Thad Cochran To Primary Win
Posted in: Today's ChiliRush Limbaugh reacted to Senator Thad Cochran’s primary win in Mississippi by calling his supporters “black Uncle Tom voters” on Wednesday.
Cochran won a hard-fought GOP run-off against his challenger Chris McDaniel. The New York Times reported that Cochran got an “unusual” boost from African-American voters and other Democrats who preferred Cochran over his opponent, while FiveThirtyEight said that Cochran would have lost by eight points without their votes.
“I wonder what the campaign slogan was in Mississippi the past couple days, Uncle Toms For Thad?” Limbaugh asked on Wednesday. “Cause I thought it was the worst thing you could do as an African-American, is vote for a Republican.”
The host claimed that Cochran owed “eight or nine percentage points” to “the black Uncle Tom voters in Mississippi.”
