Several Sling Media senior executives have left the company, according to reports.
Chief executive Blake Krikorian and his brother Jason, Sling’s executive vice president of business development, have left; joining them are Jason Hirshhorn, president of Sling’s entertainment group; Ben White, the company’s chief creative officer; and Gregg Wilkes, Sling’s vice president of sales, according to The San Jose Mercury News. Sling representatives declined to comment.
Sling had finally returned to form, launching a DISH-enabled Slingbox at CES, shipping the delayed SlingCatcher in October, and launching Sling.com and the SlingPlayer for the iPhone.
Echostar bought Sling in 2007 for $380 million, but, as the Mercury News points out, Echostar hasn’t broken out Sling’s numbers since. For Krikorian’s part, he told the paper that he wants to run his own business.
