Sony Denies Selling Vaio To Lenovo
Posted in: Today's ChiliOver the weekend, Japanese broadcaster NHK did report that Sony happened to be talking to Lenovo concerning a strategic partnership which might eventually see Lenovo own the international PC business of Sony’s – where the Vaio name would be the most identifiable one here. Of course, just like how the saying goes, “there is no smoke without fire”, this particular report was hot on the heels of Sony’s recent sharing that their PC division will in all probability report a loss where the existing fiscal year is concerned. Sony has denied that they are discussing on a joint venture with Lenovo, but has yet to close the door completely to potential suitors since they mentioned, “Sony continues to address various options for the PC business, but the press report on a possible PC business alliance between Sony and Lenovo is inaccurate.”
