Some of you might recall that back in February, T-Mobile sent out some pretty troll-ish emails to BlackBerry customers, telling them to upgrade their phones to something else like the iPhone 5s. Naturally this did not sit well with BlackBerry’s CEO, John Chen, who is currently trying to turn the company around, and the last thing he needs is carriers to be unsupportive.
Thankfully T-Mobile had a change of heart and launched a new promotion that would basically allow customers to trade-in their older BlackBerry handsets for something newer by giving them credit as much as $200. However if that customer were to get a BlackBerry, they’d be given an extra $50 in credit. It turns out that the promotion was a success, according to a recent tweet by T-Mobile’s CMO, Mike Sievert.
