TCA Awards Honor 'Veep' & 'True Detective,' Says A Final Goodbye To 'Breaking Bad'
Posted in: Today's ChiliOn Saturday, July 19, Terry Crews hosted the non-televised TCA Awards alongside Ms. Piggy. HBO won big through “Veep” and “True Detective,” and an award for “Breaking Bad” meant the show got it’s final goodbye (unless — as Bryan Cranston put it in his acceptance speech– “you create the category of newly departed show”).
Receiving the award for Individual Achievement in Comedy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus thanked the critics and recognized the general grooviness of winning in a co-ed category. “To be in a co-ed group — it’s sort of like having that co-ed bathroom in your dorms,” she said. “It’s like, at first it’s shocking, and then you get used to it.”
