There is always going to be a new way to do something. We’ve been using a mouse and keyboard for as long as anyone can remember, but that doesn’t stop people from trying to make a new setup. That’s all fine and well so long as it actually works for more than just a small group of people.
The King’s Assembly is wanting to take away the need to switch between mouse and keyboard by combining them. There are several versions of this sort of thing already on the market, but none have the entire keyboard and more. Seeing that this is said to be mindful of hardcore gamers as well, it is certainly worth looking into. You’ll have 30 keys available to your fingers in a curved setup on both hands, five keys with a joystick for your thumb, and as stated previously, either can act as your mouse.
It comes with a cable to connect the two, and plugs in via USB to lessen latency as well as negating the need for batteries. While they look rather bulky, they have Teflon pads for feet to help them glide effortlessly across your desk. This will come in two different options, including the ‘elementalist’ (right hand) and the ‘strategist’ (left hand). There is an adjustable contoured palm rest, but due to the variance in hand sizes and shapes, there are surely going to be some who are left out. Should you be interested, a full set will cost you around $200. This is currently a crowdfunding campaign that is successfully funded, so getting in on the action now might mean more goodies for you in the future.
