The online marketplace is one of the biggest portals through which bargain hunters and penny pinchers can get their hands on knock-offs, something that might drive away actual big brands that want to sell their genuine products through eBay, which also happens to be one of the biggest marketplace on the internet. Ben Schachter of Macquarie reports that eBay is soon going to launch a new site, that won’t carry its moniker, but will instead by called “The Plaza.” Apparently this will serve as a separate online portal which brands can use to sell directly to potential customers.
