The Kansas City BBQ Store is a barbecue lover’s paradise — a superstore selling practically every kind of seasoning, sauce, and supply you might need in your smoked meat endeavors. If you’re looking for that obscure BBQ sauce you tried at this one place in a tiny town, a wireless meat thermometer, even a barbecue cartoon (drawn by the store’s official barbecue cartoonist, Charlie Podrebarac), chances are, you will find it here.
The store is owned by familiar BBQ personalities Jeff and Joy Stehney (of Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que), with the aim of providing for both barbecue newbies as well as the seasoned competitors. The staff’s knowledge of BBQ is practically encyclopedic, and once a week, the store hosts Pitmaster Thursdays, with rotating demonstrations, classes, and tastings featuring Kansas City’s barbecue elite.
