Thomas Edison Films Boxing Cats In What Might Be The First Cat Video Ever

We know Thomas Edison to be the inventor of many modern commodities, but here’s one invention you probably didn’t know was on his list: the cat video.

The video above, which features two cats boxing (complete with gloves and boxing ring), was reportedly made in Edison’s Black Maria studio in New Jersey in July of 1894, according to Business Insider.

That was less than a decade after Edison invented earlier models of motion picture exhibition devices, making cat videos almost as old as film itself!
