It’s odd that these super-tough scissors from Fiskars are in the “Sewing and Quilting” section of the site, but then if you make a tool this awesome, you don’t need to do much else. You certainly don’t need to spend more than five seconds coming up with a dumb name: They’re called “Cuts+More”. Lame
So what do they do? In short, everything you use your current scissors for, only the Fiskars scissors are actually designed to take the abuse. First, they cut, but with a titanium-coated upper-blade that is harder and should stay sharp longer. There’s also a wire-cutter notched out by one handle to save you nicking the blade, a twine cutter right next to that, a bottle opener, a “power-notch” for cutting rope (or any other thick, circular target material that may slide out) and finally, one of the blades has a pointed awl tip for punching holes.
The Cuts+More’s also ship with a blade-protecting case which sharpens the scissors and incorporates a tape cutter for opening boxes. Best of all, these 9-inch scissors cost just $20
Actually, that’s not the “best of all”. The coolest part is buried down in the FAQ, which has a question that is not only infrequent, but probably never asked before: “How do I take apart the scissors to use the titanium-coated blade as a knife?”
Awesome.
