Which Breed Won The ‘Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show’ For The First Time Ever? (VIDEO)

A little dog was the top banana at the “Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show.” It was the first time the breed took “Best in Show” when Banana Joe took the top honors for 2013. A 5-year-old affenpinscher from Massachusetts, Banana Joe beat out 3,000 other dogs for the ribbon.

“Its almost indescribable. I think it’s just a wonderful thing, as a tribute for a small breed with such a big heart. I think he wins everybody’s heart and he just proved it,” his handler, Ernesto, said.

The win marked a major milestone for Banana Joe, as well as the end of his show career. This marked his 86th best-in-show title, and after taking home the big prize, Banana Joe is going to retire. And because he’s earned it, he’ll be traveling overseas to enjoy his retirement in his native Netherlands.
