No big surprises here, unless you count that snowy white number up above. Yep, LG’s not only stolen a march on Motorola in introducing the world’s first dual-core smartphone, it’s also about to beat Apple to the white handset punch as well. The 1080p-recording, Tegra 2-wielding Optimus 2X is now available in its home market of South Korea and, if LG stays true to its roadmap, should be filtering through into Europe before this month is out. We don’t know if its white variant will ever escape the clutches of Korea (and we sure hope it does), but it should be making its bodacious debut over there in February.

The teases over at iriver are ready to show you what they’ve got: the neon-colored U100. We reported on the PMP, along with the P100 and the D2000 last month, but it looks like iriver is going to leave us guessing on the last two. The U100 sports a 3.1-inch (320 x 480) touchscreen, up to 16GB of internal memory, WiFi, microSDHC, and an FM tuner for those who still listens to the radio. It plays 720p video and touts 50 hours of battery life for audio playback and 11 hours for video. iriver isn’t ready to give us all the details quite yet — an official release date and pricing are still under wraps — but they have provided another video to keep us interested. If there’s one thing we appreciate more than pixel density, it’s slim bezels. LG, a traditional enemy of unsightly frames, is today staking its claim for having the world’s thinnest bezel on a laptop with the new Xnote P210. This 12.5-inch machine is said to fit within the footprint of an 11.6-incher, but before you start throwing insults like “netbook” around the place, do take note it has a dual-core Core i5-470UM processor inside — capable of running between 1.33GHz and 1.86GHz — 4GB of RAM, and a 320GB HDD. The LED-backlit display’s resolution isn’t specified beyond a note saying it’s “HD,” while Windows 7 Home Premium is the predictable OS of choice. Look for the P210 to hit Korea in February for around 1.3 million won (about $1,135), but don’t hold your breath on it coming Stateside for anything other than a flying trade show visit.

Dell’s keeping up its usual habit of sneaking devices out with today’s announcement of the Dell Venue for launch in South Korea. Local carrier KT has revealed the details of this 4.1-inch Android 2.2 device (sans keyboard, unlike its WP7 cousin the Venue Pro), which is set to arrive by the end of this month at a price of 700,000KRW ($606). Formerly known by its codename of Thunder, this has actually been one of the most hotly anticipated Android handsets of the year, though the only other information confirmed by KT so far is that it’ll have a curved Gorilla Glass screen. We’re sure a US launch can’t be far behind.

Ah, LG’s LU3000, the sprightly young thing that made the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S look a wee bit aged in some YouTube tests has now become official over in South Korea. It boasts a 1GHz TI OMAP3630 chip, allowing it to jot down 1080p video playback on its spec sheet, which in turn goes very nicely with the built-in HDMI port and DLNA wireless capabilities. A 3.8-inch screen offers an 800 x 480 resolution, there’s a 5 megapixel camera around the back, and a mildly skinned Android 2.2 performs the OS duties. Curiously enough, the LU3000’s home screen looks identical to the one on the leaked LG Star, suggesting that the stuff they’re running will represent LG’s default Android treatment for the near future. 800,000KRW ($705) buys you the 3000 when it ships in its native land a week from now, though there are apparently no plans to spread the wealth to other nations. Why so selfish, LG?
