Hasta La Gadget!

When Motorola took the wraps off it’s rugged Titanium in May it left out a pair of pretty crucial details — namely price and release date. Thankfully, our friends over at Sprintfeed scored some details and it looks like the “Sturdy and QWERTY” Android handset will be landing on July 24th for $150. Otherwise there’s nothing new to report, you’re still getting the same military-grade resistance to the elements, support for Nextel Direct Connect, and five megapixel camera. Sadly, it’s also still shipping with Eclair leaving this Moto a solid two generations behind the current crop of Google phones. Still, if you need a smartphone with a physical keyboard that can withstand some serious abuse there aren’t too many other options out there.

Representing a letter of the Greek alphabet can be a daunting task. The Nokia 700 “Zeta,” however, is busy getting primed for the massive duty on hand, indicated by a pair of possible press shots that surfaced from Indian site KnowYourMobile. A comparison of these new pics with the spyshots grabbed last week show very little difference besides the obvious color change, with the 1GHz, Symbian Belle-powered Zeta opting for a white front and chrome back instead of the black and candy-apple combo we saw previously. This could mean that, like many Nokia handsets before it, a rainbow of various hues will be available to choose from the moment the device launches. We sure hope that’s soon, because nobody wears white after Labor Day.

Go grab the Morton — you’re gonna need a grain or two. According to a “confidential HP product brief” sent anonymously to PreCentral, HP is on track to launch a new 64GB TouchPad next month, complete with a white glossy cabinet and a “processor bump,” along with support for AT&T’s HSPA+ network. The company just started shipping its 16GB and 32GB TouchPads, but even August wouldn’t be too soon for a speed boost, considering the tablet’s disappointing performance during our review. The presentation also lists the Pre 3 for a “fall” launch, along with that mysterious Opal tablet. Despite the so-called leaked confidential presentation, this rumor should be approached like any other — but on the other hand, with the Pre 3 making recent appearances at the FCC in both AT&T and Verizon flavors, HP’s latest webOS smartphone could easily be on-track to hit stores by autumn.

Gadget news, like dating and crate digging, is all about the thrill of the hunt. Sure, big press events where you get to manhandle the objects of your desire are fun, but give us Mr. Blurry Cam and some EXIF data any day. With that in mind, we present to you an out of focus pic of what looks like that tweaked Bionic and a reference to the Droid HD on Flickr, coming straight out of the Motorola campus in Libertyville, Illinois (since removed). Now, the two things are not necessarily related, but it’s possible that the dual-core LTE handset is getting a new name to match its updated internals and redesigned exterior (though, if it’s different inside, outside, and has a new name, is it really the Droid Bionic any more?). We do know that, what began life as the Targa, can capture 1080p video, which matches up nicely with the HD moniker. It’s also possible that the pic taker is an as yet unseen device and our (moto)blurry friend above is simply a Bionic destined for another carrier. Either way, we’re hooked — at least until the PR hits our inbox, then it’s back in the Mystery Machine.

Well, lookie here! Seems that ThinkPad Tablet’s getting more real by the hour. For what it’s worth, Lenovo hasn’t exactly done a laudatory job keeping its next major Honeycomb tablet under wraps, but flaunting it in public? Now that’s just asking for it. According to ZTOP, the enterprise-centric Tablet will arrive within three to four weeks boasting Tegra 2 silicon, a 10.1-inch display (1280 x 800) and an optional folio / cover that might just steal the show. According to the report, it’s a leather-wrapped case that contains a full-on keyboard and optical tracking sensor, presumably using a USB connector to make the magic happen. Think Clamcase, but tailored for Lenovo. There’s no mention of a price on that one, but we’re guessing it ain’t gonna be tossed in gratis. Tap the source for one more look, and expect to hear more on the whole kit and kaboodle as July draws closer.
