Sharp’s PC-Z1 NetWalker takes the inevitable unboxing journey

Sharp’s PC-Z1 NetWalker conjured up all sorts of love and hate-filled emotions when we toyed with it earlier this month, but for fans of unorthodox handhelds, minor details like a wonky optical pad and frail keys aren’t apt to put a damper on the excitement found in this moment. The cool kids over at Pocketables were able to procure a unit over the weekend from Japan (right on cue, might we add), and predictably, they’ve broken out the camera in order to let you relive the unboxing experience and see it side-by-side with a UMID mbook M1. The read link folks, that’s where it’s at.

Netgear 3G Mobile Broadband Wireless Router unboxing and impressions

Originally announced at CES this year, Netgear’s 3G Mobile Broadband Wireless Router just recently started making its way into stores. Essentially, the MBR624GU enables your USB WWAN stick to become an internet source for multiple computers, handhelds or any other device that understands WiFi. You simply plug your USB WWAN modem into the rear of the unit (or into the bundled USB dongle), fire it up, and connect via WiFi or Ethernet. Sounds good in theory, right? Follow us past the break for a few impressions on how this admittedly promising device performed in the real world.

Video: Sony Ericsson Satio unboxed, demonstrated with the utmost care

October 7th is like, what, just under a fortnight away? But we know good and well that’s not making it any easier to wait for Sony Ericsson’s 12.1 megapixel Satio to launch across the pond. If you’re eager to live vicariously through a well-connected individual over on YouTube, you can hop on past the break right now to see the phone unboxed (in all three colors, no less) and detailed to a level that only a true SE fanboy could treasure. And that includes you, over there in the closet…

[Thanks, Simon]

AT&T’s 3G MicroCell gets unboxed, looks sufficiently cute

It’s sort of outrageous how much publicity AT&T’s very own femtocell has garnered here lately, particularly when you realize that it’s limited to the Charlotte, North Carolina area alone. But look — did you really expect us to pass up what appears to be the very first unboxing of the 3G MicroCell? No, you didn’t. Hit the read link if you’re somehow not quite past the point of saturation, and be sure to have a peek past the break for an unexpected treat.

[Thanks, Aaron]

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 lovingly unboxed on video

We’ll confess – Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X2 is going to have quite the time attracting attention now that the Android-equipped X3 is all but confirmed, but those who aren’t yet ready to ditch Windows Mobile may be interested in seeing the first video unboxing of the Q4-bound smartphone. Unfortunately, the actual box that it’s emerging from is one of those ultra-plain units given to employees and the like when carrier testing is in full swing, but hey — a box is a box. Have a peek in the read link below, but be sure to bring a cup of patience. You’ll see.

PSP Go unboxing (update: with video!)

Sony’s just handed us a shiny new, UMD-less PSP Go (or “PSPgo,” depending on who you ask) to run our greasy fingers all over, and while we can’t give you our impressions until later this month, we can let you live vicariously through us and our unboxing photos. Enjoy!

Update: Now with video, after the break.

Nokia Booklet 3G hits the unboxing phase of its product cycle

Might as well add your own soundtrack, because chances are, you won’t be able to understand what the narrator with a tattoo on his left hand is saying. Not that you really need, as you can probably get the gist of this Nokia Booklet 3G unboxing. We’ve got blue packaging, a power brick, a “Hello, Hei” greeting just under the portable itself, and a fairly sleek portable to boot. Of course, with a $800 price tag on the outside and an Atom processor on the inside, it’s not the most attractive of combinations. See the whole kit and caboodle after the break.

[Thanks, mimo]

Wacom Bamboo multitouch tablet found at Best Buy, unboxed on video

Need even more proof the Wacom Bamboo multitouch tablet is real? Apparently cued by one of our posts (or so he says), “weaksaucetwelve” ran out to his local Best Buy and picked up the device for the previously-heard price of $69 plus tax, and then proceeded to take it home and unbox it on camera. From his experience so far, it only seems to support up to two fingers at a time with OS X Leopard, but otherwise it works great. Video after the break.

Zune HD unboxing and hands-on

The Zune HD is soon to be officially out on the streets, and we’ve got the official Engadget hands-on / unboxing. Now, we were excited as all get-out to wrap our paws around the Tegra-powered PMP, but some of that luster has worn off since popping this baby out of its extremely attractive packaging. Why is that, you ask? Well, Microsoft decided to hold on loading up any usable software until the new Zunes were out to market. What that means is that we have yet to do any serious testing with the new device — despite having the gem sitting right here. We can tell you that the Zune HD is most definitely a thing of beauty as far as gadget standards are concerned, and while the only media we’ve been able to enjoy is the big M’s demo video, we have been marveling at the clarity and crispness of that OLED display.

Obviously we’ve got a proper review coming soon, but we take this stuff pretty seriously and don’t like to offer our opinion till we’ve spent some quality time with a device. You can expect a look at both the music and media playback capabilities of the ZHD, as well as the new Zune integration into Xbox Live, Windows Media Center, and all other kinds of connected-world goodness. Till then, feast your eyes on the galleries below, and quietly curse Microsoft for handing us a neutered Zune.

Update: As a commenter points out below, these devices are being sold to end users in the same condition our unit is in — namely, without any real functioning software. It’s a pretty unusual move for a company like Microsoft to put devices into the hands of consumers with no functionality at all, but it seems the Zune team was cranking till the last minute. Let’s hope all the hard work pays off!

Video: Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 unboxed, compared to T-Mobile version

There’s not long to wait now, with September 8th confirmed as the date the Touch Pro2 hits Sprint stores, but just in case your cup runneth over with anticipation, we’ve been to the future and videotaped what you’ll be doing this coming Tuesday morning. The Sprint model you see above comes with a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack (is that a chorus of approval we hear?) and some minor keyboard and color scheme modifications from the T-Mobile version we reviewed a while back, but yeah, you already knew that. Anxious to see it? Run along past the break and look out for the new back cover, it’s quite the eye catcher.

[Thanks, thedoctor]
