Exactly as suspected, the Droid Pro will start its Verizon retail adventure tomorrow, with pre-sales at selected VZW stores and the carrier’s online outlet, to be followed by its proper shelf debut on November 18th. Price is set at $179.99 on a two-year contract, provided you’re happy to take care of a $100 mail-in rebate. Moto will be hoping business types lap this offer up, as it has equipped the Droid Pro with an unusual (outside of RIM’s realm) portrait QWERTY keyboard as well as a dual-mode CDMA/GSM wireless chip. A 3.1-inch display, 1GHz of processing power, and a 5 megapixel autofocus cam fill out the spec sheet. Jump past the break for the full press release.

Sure, Verizon’s pushing tiered data plans in public, but it’s simultaneously expanding its unlimited offerings behind closed doors — yesterday, the wireless carrier launched a promotional plan with 450 minutes, unlimited text and unlimited data for $70 a month. Before you jump at the chance to lower your monthly bill, however, we should warn you that this is very much a limited trial: Verizon will check its computers to verify that you were sent a promotional email before letting you into the deal. Furthermore, the offer doesn’t ring up as a new plan in Verizon’s computer system, but rather an amalgam of the company’s existing $60 Talk and Text plan and its $30 unlimited data plan, with a $20 credit applied to your bill each and every month. The upside of that is that selected customers can basically add unlimited data to any Talk and Text plan they choose for an extra $10 monthly, but the downside is that it’s far too early to call the promotion a portent of things to come. Recent intel suggests that Motorola’s Droid 2 Global will be coming in two colors — kind of a strange choice for a phone being tagged as “business-grade” — and now, it looks like we can expect to see at least one of those colors on next Thursday, November 11th. Specifically, the leak we’ve got here calls out the blue version of the phone (probably the same blue on the Droid 2 of old); the white model isn’t mentioned, so it’s unclear whether Verizon’s planning on holding that one back for a bit longer. We suppose it’s possible that the white looks just a little too much like the pricey R2-D2 edition for Big Red’s comfort, so they might want to give the spunky little astromech droid a bit more exclusivity before hauling in another white model (with better radios, no less). Seeing how the Droid Pro looks targeted for a week later on the 18th, this might be the very first CDMA / GSM dual-mode Android phone on the market — so who’s excited?

Yeah, kind of a good news / bad news type of situation here: the user’s manual for the rumored Android-based LG enV Pro for Verizon has leaked, showing off the latest incarnation of the long-running QWERTY clamshell line in all its dual-screen glory. That’s the good news. The bad news, though, is that Android and Me is reporting that it’s apparently been pulled from the launch roadmap for failing to wow the folks testing it. At a glance, we can’t say we’d blame them — it certainly doesn’t look like anything special, but then again, canceling a device at the last second is probably a small-scale contractual and financial nightmare for Verizon and LG alike… and we’re guessing it’s a situation they’d both like to avoid. Could it be sent back to the shop for retooling, or is it toast? And more importantly, does the Android-buying public care?

There’s been a lot of speculation about what’ll happen to ye olde Droid 2 when the GSM-enhanced Droid 2 Global finally busts loose, but it looks like we might now have the answer: it gets a lower price tag. The original model has now fallen to $149.99 on contract on Verizon’s site, and evidence from the carrier’s internal systems (see after the break for that) suggests it’ll be hanging around at that price until at least the tail end of January. Meanwhile, that same internal screenshot is also showing the Droid X holding steady at $199.99 until December 30, so we wouldn’t count on getting any sweet deals — or a dual-mode version of the 4.3-inch beast — at any point in 2010. Interestingly, the Droid 2 R2-D2 edition is holding steady at $250, so you’d better really want it. Go ahead and follow the break for the evidence.

Update: The Droid Incredible is now $150 direct from Verizon, too — and considering how universally well-liked that thing is, the Droid 2 might still be a tough sell at the same price. Decisions!
