An 250GB Xbox 360 hard drive for storing more entertainment content is now available for $130.
Case-mate, a leading smartphone, iPod, and laptop accessory maker, launched seven new iPad cases this week at CTIA in Las Vegas. As the iPad’s release on April 3rd gets closer, it makes sense to see many accessories start popping up on the scene. Options for the cases include a black hybrid silicon and plastic case, a gray felt folio with brown accents, a tan leather commuter, and a black, splash-resistant nylon folio. Some of the cases are already on case-mate’s site.
Arguably the most interesting case is called I Make My Case–it allows a customer to go to case-mate’s Web site and design his or her own case. Consumers can remix art by well-known artists to create their own customized case. The photo above shows I Make My Case in action, with art by Chuck Anderson that has been remixed. The iPad cases will be available for purchase from www.case-mate.com in the second quarter and will run between $20 and $80.
Case-mate also said they had begun letting consumers design their own cases with I Make My Case for the 8520 and 9700 BlackBerry models. Pre-designed cases start at $34.99 and customized cases will run $39.99, with cases beginning to ship in mid-April.
Dell Inspiron Mini 10 shipping April 1st with integrated Clear WiMAX
Posted in: 4G, ctia, mobile broadband, MobileBroadband, netbook, Today's Chili, WiMAX, wwanDell’s vanilla Atom N450-based Mini 10 just started shipping a couple of months ago, and if you’ll recall, we spotted one slip through the FCC’s oh-so-vulnerable database with WiMAX built-in. Today at CTIA, Clearwire spilled the news that it’ll be providing the service for a 4G-infused version of the netbook come April 1st. What’s interesting is that Clearwire only mentions it being for sale “through select Clear retail locations, telesales and Clear.com,” so it’s still unknown if it’ll be offered up through the Round Rock powerhouse itself (as the Studio 17, Studio XPS 1640 and Latitude E4300, etc. are). The machine will be sold for $249.99 after an instant rebate, though no specifics were mentioned concerning a per-month data plan price. If we were the betting type, we’d say it’ll probably run you 40 bones for every 30 days based on existing rates.

Sprint, HTC Unveil First 4G Android Phone
Posted in: 4G, cellphones, HTC, Phones, Sprint, Today's ChiliAndroid superfactory HTC’s latest smartphone is a 4G device designed just for Sprint. The phone, called HTV Evo, is a feature-packed gadget that will have the distinction of being the first phone offered for a 4G network in the United States.
The Evo has a 4.3-inch touchscreen (by comparison, the iPhone’s display is 3.5 inches, while the Nexus One and Motorola Droid have 3.7-inch screens), two cameras, GPS navigation, HDMI output and mobile hotspot capability. It will run Google’s Android 2.1 operating system and HTC’s custom user interface called the Sense.
And despite its large touchscreen, the Evo feels comfortable, says Into Mobile, which got some hands-on time with the phone.
Sprint claims its 4G network can offer download speeds up to 10 times faster than current 3G networks, allowing the Evo to be blazing fast when it comes to data access.
Over the last few years, Sprint has been building out its 4G network. The company’s 4G wireless service is available in 27 cities in the United States, though that doesn’t include most major hubs like San Francisco and New York. Sprint has said it will expand its 4G network in a big way this year.
Sprint has also recently launched a 4G wireless product called Overdrive that uses Sprint’s 4G wireless data connection to establish a local Wi-Fi hotspot. The hotspot supports up to five devices at a time.
Sprint and HTC haven’t announced pricing for the Evo, but say the device will launch this summer.
Like the Nexus One, another HTC-designed phone for Google, the Evo will use a 1-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It will have an 8-megapixel auto-focus camera with HD-capable video camcorder and a forward-facing 1.3-megapixel camera. (See a list of detailed specifications on Sprint’s site.)
Evo’s mobile hotspot functionality will allow up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices to share the network. The phone will also support Adobe Flash and will have a “custom” web browser, says Sprint.
UPDATE: See below for more photos of the Evo 4G from the Sprint HTC event, courtesy of Into Mobile.
