Sony outs water resistant Walkman NWZ-W250 series

Sony‘s just quietly unleashed a new water resistant, wearable Walkman — the NWZ-250. This tiny little guy comes in both 2GB and 4GB capacity models, and apparently boasts an up to 11 hour battery life. Weighing in at 43 grams, this one’s probably perfect for even the most weight sensitive of ears, and it’ll be available in black, silver, lime green, and magenta. You’ll be able to pick up one (or more) of these later this month for $60. Full press release is after the break.

Oppo’s BDP-80 Blu-ray player is short on features for the price

Integra Ships Nine-Channel, 150-Watt Home Theater Amp

IntegraDTA_70_1.jpgIn a first for the high-end AV component company, Integra is shipping a nine-channel home theater power amplifier that’s rated at 150 watts per channel. Integra says the DTA-70.1 is a first for the industry, as well. The amplifier can drive all the speakers in a nine-channel home theater system to THX output levels and beyond, and was awarded THX Ultra2 certification, THX’s top level award.

The DTA-70.1 is meant as a companion to Integra’s DHC-80.1 9.2-channel AV processor. Like all Integra amplifiers and receivers, it uses the company’s WRAT (wide range amplifier technology) which offers low negative feedback, closed ground-loop circuits, and HICC (high instantaneous-current capability) to deliver an extended frequency range, low noise, and high dynamics.

You can pick up the DTA-70.1 for a list price of $1,800, so better hope that tax refund shows up soon. Once you’ve got it installed, invite me over for movie night. I’ll bring an Iron Man 2 bootleg and we’ll crank that volume.

G4 iMac turned into touchscreen monitor, relegated to Windows servitude (video)

G4 iMac turned into touchscreen monitor, relegated to life of Windows servitude

Ahh, the sweet feeling of success — of completing a project that’s been lingering on for many moons. That is the feeling felt by the creator of the Dremel Junkie blog, who has for months been working on a project to take a 17-inch iMac G4 and turn it into a touchscreen monitor. It is, indeed, just a monitor, having been gutted to serve its purpose and is now displaying a signal from a Windows machine, of all things. But, the modder in question promises to rectify this situation shortly with a Mac Mini companion piece, which will surely make this mod feel a little more right. Video exploration after the break, and all the sordid details of its construction are included at the source link.

Meizu Mbook tablet gets pictured, initial specs detailed

Meizu's Mbook tablet gets pictured, is it just a big M8?

Well lookie here, folks, everyone’s favorite clone phone maker is getting in on the tablet game, announcing the 8.4-inch Mbook. It’s said to have a 1024 x 768 capacitive touchscreen, 3G and WiFi, a 12 hour battery, and even HDMI output over which it will pump enough data to tickle every pixel on your 1080p display. Promising (if a bit optimistic) specs for sure, and while we don’t know what OS the thing will be running, those icons are looking mighty familiar. In other words, don’t be surprised if this thing winds up being just a big M8.

Update: Commenter Mr. Crosini pointed out that the photo above is actually a fan-made conceptual render added here by ardent Meizu fanboy bingo_zheng. However, the specs are said to have come straight from the mouth of Meizu’s CEO, and if you can’t trust Jack Wong who can you trust?
