The Kansas City Chiefs have issued a statement saying that Sunday’s scheduled game with the Carolina Panthers will be played as scheduled, just over 24 hours after the horrific murder-suicide involving linebacker Jovan Belcher.
For the last six years, the BCS national champion has come from the Southeastern Conference. Five of those national champs won the SEC Championship game first.
The 2012 SEC Championship Game features two teams with national title aspirations: The defending BCS champion No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs at the Georgia Dome. With Notre Dame waiting for the winner, the SEC title tilt is a de facto national semifinal.
That’s the good news for these teams. The bad news? The loser could very well miss out on a BCS bowl all together..

While most of us will never get the chance to travel to far-off planets in a spaceship, that doesn’t mean we can’t fantasize about space travel right here on planet Earth. If you’ve always wanted to be an astronaut, then you might want to order your very own space helmet.

Sony’s compact camera with pro features including manual focusing and RAW support comes with a hefty price tag, but it costs that much for a reason: This is simply the best camera currently available for shooters who want something that fits in a front pocket but still delivers image quality so breathtaking, your friends will think you’ve been toting around a DSLR.

HOUSTON — Former U.S. President George H.W. Bush remains in stable condition at a Houston hospital, but a lingering cough related to bronchitis likely will keep him there through the weekend.
Methodist Hospital spokesman George Kovacik said Saturday there is no change in the status of the 88-year-old Bush from earlier in the week. But Jim McGrath, a spokesman for the 41st president, said “he still has the cough and we’re now not expecting him to be discharged this weekend.”
While I usually associate the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with unhealthy food like pizza, it turns out the turtles can also be used to encourage healthy eating. CHICAGO — For the first time in almost two decades the nation’s psychiatrists are changing the guidebook they use to diagnose mental disorders. Among the most controversial proposed changes: Dropping certain familiar terms like Asperger’s disorder and dyslexia and calling frequent, severe temper tantrums a mental illness.
The board of trustees for the American Psychiatric Association voted Saturday in suburban Washington, D.C., on scores of revisions that have been in the works for several years. Details will come next May when the group’s fifth diagnostic manual is published.
