After the first 100 days of his second term, President Obama just can’t stop talking about the limits of his own power.
The “DWTS” results are in and Andy Dick is going home.
Though the “DWTS” results weren’t surprising, the elimination was certainly one of the saddest of Season 16. Andy, a surprising fan favorite, has been at the bottom of the leaderboard throughout the competition, but his determination and enthusiasm in every dance has kept him in the running.
“It’s been the best,” a choked-up Andy said when the “DWTS” results came in, as he stood next his first-time pro Sharna Burgess. “Carrie Ann I’m going to kill you for the 5. It’s all your fault,” he joked, adding, “The fact that we are here in Week 7 is amazing … It’s been a wonderful, wonderful ride.”

Yesterday we saw what was believed to be Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 in a leaked image showing a larger display than its Note 2 predecessor, as well as a host of specs. While the image was alluring, it was later discovered that the featured phone was not, in fact, the Galaxy Note 3, but instead a ZOPO ZP950 Android handset with a 5.7-inch display and no Samsung branding to be seen. That’s not all, however, with a source saying that Samsung does have three Galaxy Note 3 prototypes floating around.
Of the three alleged prototypes, the source says there is one with a design inspired by the GALAXY S 4 flagship handset, another with a completely new design (breath of fresh air and all that), and a third that features a flexible display, which is the one that sounds most intriguing. The prototype that draws its design from the S 4 is featured in the concept above.
Different rumors have been popping up lately regarding the Galaxy Note 3, such as one that hit the Web a few weeks ago claiming the device will sport a new design, which is what one of the three prototypes at Samsung are rumored to have. Specifically, word has it the design will utilize metal in the place of plastic. Such a claim automatically brings one around to thoughts of the HTC One.
The rumored new design and GALAXY S 4-inspired design aside, the third concerning a flexible display design is the most interesting of the three. This seems to match up with a rumor we heard earlier this month that the Note 3 will feature a super-durable plastic display that is harder to crack than current offerings. For now, all remain the stuff of rumors, but if one of them proves to be true, we’ll know in September when it is believed Samsung will launch the device.

A conspiracy theory is getting renewed life among Republicans who claim that the Obama administration, specifically the Department of Homeland Security, is buying up ammunition in order to thwart gun owners by taking over the market. Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., and Rep. Frank Lucas, both Republicans from Oklahoma, introduced a bill last week to crack down on the alleged practice.

Aston Martin Hybrid Rapide S completes Nurburgring lap with much fanfare, zero emissions
Posted in: Today's ChiliNext month, Aston Martin’s hydrogen-fueled Rapide S will attempt a new record at the 24 Hours Nurburgring race in Germany. The company’s opted to get a head start on headline grabbing, though, taking a prototype vehicle on a zero-emissions lap around the course, with CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez behind the wheel. The test has gone off without a hitch, and Aston Martin appears to be confident that the vehicle will survive the grueling 24-hour marathon, which is set to run from May 19th through the 20th. The four-door sports car, which is based on the Rapide S model that’s soon to make its way to consumers, will operate on a blend of hydrogen and gasoline with zero CO2 emissions. It’ll be the first hydrogen-powered car to compete in such an event, according to the manufacturer. The lengthy race is an impressive feat for any motorist, and we’re glad environmental concerns haven’t taken a backseat to friendly (and exhausting) competition — for this one entrant, at least.

“Snoopy Japanesque” Exhibition – Japanese traditional craftspeople in collaborative Snoopy works
Posted in: Today's ChiliAn art exhibition called “Snoopy Japanesque” is now being held until May 6 in the Matsuya Ginza department store in Tokyo. It was planned by Japanese painter, Yoshiteru Otani, who used to be called a genius by “Peanuts” creator, Charles Schulz, and was a good friend of his.
More than 40 Japanese craftsmen joined this project, creating collaborative works of Peanuts characters made from lacquerware, dyed clothing, pottery, faceted glass, pearls, etc.
In the venue, you can buy original goods that you cannot buy anywhere else. Those goods are very “Japanesy” and uniquely designed.
BURKESVILLE, Ky. — Authorities in southern Kentucky say a 2-year-old girl has been accidentally shot and killed by her 5-year-old brother, who was playing with a .22-caliber rifle he received as a gift.
Kentucky State Police said the toddler was shot just after 1 p.m. CDT Tuesday in Cumberland County and was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Leave it to Canada to roll out an awesome design you can carry on every ($5) bill in your pocket. Earlier today, the Bank of Canada announced its new $5 and $10 polymer bank notes, which are not only among the most secure bills Canada has ever issued, but the lesser denomination also features Canada’s awesome robot arms and was unveiled in part by Commander Chris Hadfield of the ISS.
The $5 note features a picture of Canadarm2 and Dextre, robotic arms that were used in part to construct and further maintain the International Space Station. Given the nature of the bill, it only makes sense, then, that it was unveiled by Commander Hadfield, who said that the image represented on the bill should serve as a reminder of Canada’s space achievements and that the sky, in fact, is not the limit.
Canadians will see the bill – as well as the $10 note – in the wild when they are both released in November, finishing up a series that already contains $20, $50, and $100 notes out in circulation. The polymer notes are boasted as being very secure due to the use of both holography and transparency, as well as being more durable than their cotton counterparts, thus making them more economical and green as well.
Canada’s Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty said: “Canadians can be very proud of their new polymer bank notes. With today’s unveiling of the final two notes in the series, one can see not only the unique story that each of the five denominations tells, but the unifying theme that underlies them all – the profound courage, determination, and ingenuity of our nation and its people.”
