NBC is going to “Camp” this summer.

“Six Feet Under” veteran Rachel Griffiths stars as Mackenzie Granger, the owner and director of Little Otter Family Camp. She’s recently divorced and attempting to do things her own way to keep the cash-strapped camp afloat. There’s love and drama — and that’s just with the adults. Wait until you meet the kids.

“Camp” hails from Liz Heldens of “Friday Night Lights” fame and Peter Elkoff of “Deception.”

Need Some Spiritual Help? Pay This Retired Minister $5 and He’ll Pray For You

Have you heard of fiverr.com? It’s a site that provides interested users with “graphics, marketing, fun and more online services for $5.” All sorts of bizarre services are being offered on the site, from people offering to write messages for you using Indian spices to making soda tab bracelets that they’ll be happy to mail to your home.

In the mix is user givingpraise, who promises to pray for your request for five bucks.

fiverr prayerr

Before you get irate at the fact that someone’s trying to make a few quick bucks off of someone’s faith, the listing adds that the money raised will be used to help others. How, we’re not sure, but we’re hoping they’ll donate it to charity or fund some local programs that’ll help people in need.

I find nothing wrong with wanting to raise money to help others, but it just seems like a roundabout way to pray and ask others to pray for you, doesn’t it? A trip to your local ministry would’ve sufficed – and it would definitely be more meaningful.

Acer Aspire R7 review: a flexible form factor at a reasonable price

Acer Aspire R7 review: a flexible form factor at a reasonable price

If you told us Acer was coming out with an innovative new take on the Windows 8 convertible, we’d probably laugh in your face. After so many months of evaluating slidable, twistable, bendable and detachable machines, we’d (hopefully) be forgiven for believing we’d seen every possible form factor. The Aspire R7 proves that we were wrong, and we’re actually kind of glad. With a 15.6-inch display sitting in a unique, flexible “Ezel” hinge, this device lets you switch between four modes, and the panel can even lie nearly flat above the keyboard like an all-in-one desktop. Oh, and Acer switched the positions of the keyboard and touchpad, a setup that definitely takes some getting used to.

Though the R7’s form factor sets it apart, it offers the same specs as many Windows 8 convertibles: you get a 1080p screen, a Core i5 processor and 6GB of RAM for $1,000. So does the R7’s appeal hinge on its distinctive design? Follow us past the break to find out — we promise the bad jokes stop here.

Tumblr brings sponsored posts to your Dashboard on the web

Image

Less than two weeks after Yahoo announced its acquisition of Tumblr, the micro-blogging platform is unveiling a new feature for its desktop site. Starting today, users will see sponsored content mixed in alongside posts from the blogs they follow. Previously, sponsored content from brands was only featured in Tumblr Radar, located less prominently to the right of the Dashboard. Though the goal is clearly for paid content to blend in with regular posts — see that dollar sign above? — we’re sure Tumblr users will sniff out the difference instantly.

For Your Big Blow-Out You May Need A Big Blow-Up

Bench 7 AirLounge XLHaving a large amount of furniture around for that occasional big bash is not all that feasible. It takes up a lot of room and requires a lot of moving back and forth. And if you want to change venues and have your party or reception at the beach or in a park it can become almost unmanageable — that is unless you have an AirLounge XL inflatable lounger by Bench 7.
