Doctor Who TARDIS Talking Money Bank

Forget about time travel with the latest Doctor Who TARDIS iteration this time around (granted, all the other TARDIS toys that have come out in the past also had nothing to do with time travel, but rather, it gave a semblance of doing so where your imagination will need to fill in the rest of the blanks. With the $24.99 Doctor Who TARDIS Talking Money Bank, however, it would offer a respite for your bank account, as you begin to accumulate your daily loose change in the TARDIS, and each time you decide to drop a coin inside, it will make some “vworp vworp” noises.

The Doctor Who TARDIS Talking Money Bank will measure 8″ in height, and it is large enough on the inside to be able to stash a fair number of coins. In order to access the coins within, all you need to do is open it up and remove those coins. Do bear in mind that this is an officially licensed Doctor Who collectible, so if you are a huge fan of the good Doctor, this is one particular toy or accessory which you could add to your collection.

Australia takes the hint, postpones plans for PRISM-style snooping

Here’s some good news for anyone who considers Australia a haven from pernicious surveillance laws. The antipodean government has decided to postpone plans to force phone and internet companies to retain two years’ worth of personal data after a scrutiny committee demanded changes. While it’s not a total win for privacy fans, the legislation will now be re-examined after elections scheduled for September 14th — with the Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus saying that the government will now “await further advice,” before amending the prospective law.

BTTF's Grays Sports Almanac iPad Case Only Makes You Rich in Spirit

High Speed Footage Reveals an AK-47 Works Even Better Under Water

The AK-47 can be considered the Timex watch of the gun world. It takes a licking, and keeps on ticking, except that by ticking we of course mean firing round after round of ammunition. The automatic machine gun is based on a gas recoil system that uses the hot expanding gases of a bullet being fired to automatically rechamber the next round, and surprisingly, it appears to work even better under water.

Custombuilt Katamari controller is made from a yoga ball, DualShock 2 controller, power of the cosmos video

Conventional wisdom would suggest that making a for-real Katamari Damacy ball would be tricky, but that didn’t stop Chris McInnis, Ron LeBlanc and Tom Gwozdz from taking up the challenge. As part of the Nuit Blanche festival in London, Canada (which also included some building-projected gaming), they were able to fashion their very own Katamari ball from a yoga ball, some stickers, wood, an Arduino microcontroller, several optical mice and a dissected DualShock 2 controller. See how it steers after the break.
