On Friday, embattled Food Network star Paula Deen released a video statement addressing her past use of racial slurs, which overnight became a national scandal.
In the clip, Deen appears visibly upset and at times close to tears. “I beg for your forgiveness…. please forgive me for the mistakes that I’ve made,” she said.
The apology, which looks to have been filmed in multiple takes, comes the same day as a cancelled appearance on the “Today” show, where she was expected to address the allegations of racism leveled against her.
Following other states in the US, New York is looking to ban direct auto sales in the state, which would prevent Tesla from selling their cars directly in yet another region in the US. It seems New York lawmakers are attempting to quietly get the bill passed through without a lot of attention, but Tesla
If you’re discrete enough, this iPad cutting board will convince your friends and dinner guests that you’re absolutely flush with cash. Because instead of slicing cheeses, vegetables, and fruits on a traditional cutting board, you can afford to use an iPad for the task.
Michael Jackson’s profound difficulty sleeping has taken center stage in the controversy surrounding his death, with expert testimony at his wrongful death trial suggesting the pop singer went a full 60 days without “real” sleep.
Jackson reportedly called propofol, the powerful anesthetic that ultimately caused his 2009 death, his “milk.” Charles Czeisler, M.D., Ph.D., from the Division Of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School, testified at the trial against concert promoter AEG Live that the drug interrupts normal sleep cycles and deprives the body of rapid eye movement, or REM, sleep, all while making a person feel as though he or she has had a true night’s sleep, CNN reports.
“It would be like eating some sort of cellulose pellets instead of dinner,” Czeisler said in his testimony, according to CNN. “Your stomach would be full and you would not be hungry, but it would be zero calories and not fulfill any of your nutrition needs.”
Are you sitting down? Kate Middleton is not the most stylish royal around.
According to a poll conducted by Myvouchercodes.co.uk, shoppers look to Denmark’s Princess Mary more often than the Duchess of Cambridge when it comes to fashion inspiration. The 2,318 British women surveyed voted Mary the most stylish royal at 68 percent, while Kate Middleton came in at a close second with 67 percent of the votes.
The study also explored how this admiration translates to dollars, finding that 62 percent of respondents are willing to purchase a fashion item simply because a royal has worn it. Not surprised? Neither are we. The Duchess Effect has long sent hoards of women into stores and online to pick up the latest garment Kate’s sported. (She’s even crashed websites!)

I went into labor late on August 14, 2011. My foster mom, Mrs. Peace, my foster sisters Anita and Shanika, and a midwife were in the hospital to help me. About three hours later, on August 15, at 2:40 a.m., I gave birth to Jewelz Thomas. I was so excited to finally meet my son, whom I carried for 40 long weeks. I loved him from the moment I held him, looked into his eyes, and started to breast feed.
When NBA free agent Jason Collins came out, it made headlines. Soccer’s Robbie Rogers, recently signed with L.A. Galaxy, broke the final barrier: an out gay male playing for a major U.S. pro team. Women’s sports have long been more accepting, so much so that when No. 1 WNBA draft pick Brittney Griner came out, the media hardly noticed. As co-editor of Outsports.com, I receive a constant flood of inquiries from the public and sportswriters asking if this means we’ve finally won the long battle for full acceptance.
Not even close. What the sea change in the pros has done is highlight how far high school and college sports teams lag behind. I keep hearing of another outed coach being dismissed or another student harassed into quitting.
Funny Breakup: ‘Why I’m Dumping You’ List Highlights Ex’s Annoying Habits (PHOTO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliAfter a breakup, it can be cathartic to list all the things you won’t miss about your ex. But sending the list to him or her? That takes some nerve.
Apparently, that’s exactly what one guy did after dumping the lady in his life. The list, entitled “Why I’m Dumping You” and posted on Imgur Wednesday, includes 20 things the boyfriend found obnoxious about his girlfriend, from her penchant for leather pants, to her confusion over whether or not vegans eat bacon. (Seriously?)
Take a look at the full list below:
