‘Pandas’ and ‘Innovators’ were British Airways’ only passengers this
week on a couple of their historic flights. In two unprecedented
promotions, giant pandas boarded one flight on Tuesday, June 11th to
announce BA’s first new route to China since it launched flights to
Shanghai in 2005. The very next day, 100 innovators took part in the
airlines’ "UnGrounded" initiative, enlishted as a think tank hackathon
team.

Nokia has fired out invites for a New York launch event, teasing with the tagline “Zoom Reinvented” in what could be the official reveal of the Nokia EOS PureView. The event, taking place on July 11, will be a chance to “see more from Nokia” according to the invite, and judging by the magnifying glass

While Microsoft has long had its own retail chain, the success of those string of retail outlets has been occasionally debated — just like the dancing moves of its employees. Still, the company has continually pledged to continue their roll-out and, today, that effort got a major boost. Microsoft and Best Buy are partnering to launch over 600 instances of a “store-within-a-store,” 1,500 to 2,200 square-foot installations within BBY’s big boxes that will host Microsoft specialists to “create a superior customer experience at scale.” The first stores open today in some markets, with the rest opening by September. This includes 500 through the US and a further 105 in Canada (some in Best Buy, some in Future Shop). Can the Geek Squad cadets buck up and handle these new responsibilities? Stay tuned to find out.

Android users who want to see if the grass really is greener on the Apple side of the fence now can try out the new color scheme debuting in iOS 7.
Gail Santos, a 20-year-old “polygadgetrous” student who likes to experiment with her Samsung Galaxy Note II’s home screen, whipped up a set of icons that gives her Android phone the iOS 7 look.
“I just did it for the sake of doing it. After taking a screenshot, I went back to my previous home screen settings,” she said on Google+ on Thursday. She also posted her icons on Dropbox and said she uses TeslaCoil Software’s Nova Launcher home screen replacement app.
iOS vs. Android can be a polarizing debate, and she evidently grew annoyed with some of the Apple-vs.-Google fanboy squabbling.
