Artist Pablo Iranzo Creates Series Of Vomiting Musical Icons (Photos)

What’s better than seeing Bjork or Bruce Springsteen rocking out, and spewing puke all over themselves? One artist thinks nothing could be more satisfying.

Venezuelan artist Pablo Iranzo took a series of black and white photos of iconic singers, and replaced their vocals with streams of neon vomit. The collection, Epic Pukes!, features Freddy Mercury, Michael Jackson, Metallica, and a host of other musical icons blowing chunks on stage in mid-song.

Check out the slightly nauseating, yet amusing photos of puking icons below:

The Body Is Absent In ‘Antibody’ (PHOTOS)

The human body is one of the oldest and most beloved tropes in the history of art. The antibody, however, is a bit more contemporary. We’re basically salivating over Lisa Cooley‘s current exhibition “Antibody,” featuring a selection of artwork that explodes, reworks, erases, multiplies and commodifies our fleshy forms.

The gallery explains how the exhibition offers up “the body in flux, extended, mediated, free of boundaries and full of possibilities. In these unique polaroids, offal weaves around electrical apparatus, alluring yet fragmented, presaging the way that our bodies and minds are enmeshed in Fitbits and iPhones.” While the “Body Art” movement envisioned the body as a primal and visceral bound entity, this show sees technological capabilities as extensions of ourselves, adapting and spawning until any semblance of a centered self is no more.

Anthea Hamilton and Julie Verhoeven’s “Fruity Seating” riffs off ancient Roman imagery of the female nude and a bountiful banquet. The plushy forms of the soft sculptures contradict their rectilinear shape, just as the jarringly flat nude bodies play off the models’ curves. The thrust of the work rests somewhere between a Marshall McLuhan collage and a hippie-dippy flashback. In stark contrast to the blissed out beauty of these idyllic bodies are Helen Chadwick’s meat-centric photographs, in which the body is presented as a buffet of raw parts beginning to leak. Finally Ed Atkins’ “Tumor” depicts the malignant and mysterious capabilities inside ourselves, and their bizarre ability to propel change without logic or reason.

Google updates Hangouts with more emoji and a touch of Project Butter

DNP Google updates Hangouts with more emoji and a touch of Project Butter

When Google debuted Hangouts at I/O, it looked like a pretty nifty idea, but since then, the app has been plagued with its share of performance issues. A new update, available today in the Google Play store, aims to rectify that by adding a hint of Project Butter to the Hangouts mix. Google is smearing Butter on the app (like a wayward child with his head stuck in the banisters) in the hopes that it’ll smooth out the kinks and speed up performance. Also included in the update is a brand new set of emoji, so you can continue to abandon the written word in favor of cutesy hieroglyphics. We jest, of course. Who doesn’t love some good emoji? To get the upgrade, head on over to the source link below.

The ace team at iFixit has given the ol’ teardown to the new Google Nexus 7 and they’ve discovered that the rear case is very easy to open, that it’s taller, narrower and thinner and that there’s an… inductive charging coil (the first iFixit has seen in a tablet). The battery inside the new Nexus 7 is slightly smaller too even though it’s gained an hour of battery life (3950mAh vs the old 4326mAh).

The 2014 model for the 370Z Coupe has had its price dropped $3,130 USD over the 2013 model, while the 370Z Coupe Touring grade model was dropped by a lesser $2,550 USD. The manual transmission 370Z Coupe Touring model, meanwhile, is priced at $35,270 USD, and the automatic transmission is priced at $36,570 USD. Rounding out the Coupe models is the Nissan Coupe NISMO, which is priced at $43,020 USD. All of these vehicles include a $790 USD destination and handling fee on top of the MSRP.

And then there’s the 2014 370Z Roadster, which starts at $41,470 USD for the seven-speed automatic transmission, and increases from there for the two Touring models. The latest Roadster Touring six-speed manual transmission model has an MSRP of $44,170 USD, while the seven-speed automatic transmission option is priced a bit more at $45,470 USD.

As with the Coupe models, the Roadster models’ pricing excludes a $790 USD destination and handling fee. Says Nissan, the 370Z Coupe’s 2014 models have had “no significant product enhancements,” while the NISMO received a new design theme on both the exterior and the interior. The Roadster, meanwhile, offers an auto convertible top.
