The history of the fountain of youth starts somewhere before Ponce de Leon and has ended up somehow to a water fountain in Florida. National Geographic tells a fascinating tale of how though one water fountain in Florida is radioactive, it may actually be extending the life of its drinkers.
Plantronics has announced its next generation Bluetooth earbuds, the BackBeat GO 2. The earbuds are designed to meet a variety of needs, and feature a battery life of up to 10 hours. The earbuds are available for purchase as of yesterday from the company’s retail partners and online in the US, Canada, Europe, and Hong Kong. Price comes in at $79.99 USD.
The BackBeat GO 2 were designed to be usable for those who are exercising or other such activities with the use of Sweat Proof coating, offering P2i moisture protection. In addition, the fit and stabilizers have been improved over the previous generation of the earbuds, improving both the audio quality and how comfortable they are to wear.
One of the particularly nice extras that come with the GO 2 is the portable case, which includes a battery that can be pre-charged before, for example, a long trip or a day at the beach. This portable case can be used to charge the earbuds two times before it needs to be recharged, tripling the estimated life of the earphones. When used with an iPhone or iPad, there’s also a battery status meter.
In addition to the charge meter, there are also voice prompts that are played to advise the user of how much of a charge is remaining. DeepSleep hibernation mode is also featured, which shuts down the device and will maintain the battery’s charge for up to six months. The 10 hour battery life includes the two charges from the portable case; without that, it comes in at around 4.5 hours with extended listen.
Plantronics’ Senior Category Manager of Stereo Solutions Greg Miller said: “Because our lives are a blend of personal and professional engagements that span the entire day, Plantronics recognizes that headsets need to be as versatile as we are – ready to dip in and out of media consumption, phone conversations, and conference calls. The BackBeat GO 2 allows users to easily transition through their busy day without skipping a beat, losing their charge, or getting tangled in cords. It’s the indispensable companion for the always-on, connected professional and media enthusiast.”

‘Joe Rogan Questions Everything’: Bigfoot Evidence May Exist In The DNA (VIDEO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliJoe Rogan is more than a UFC commentator. An actor and comedian as well, Rogan has found comedy from questioning the world around him. And now that curiosity and skepticism has landed him a new show on Syfy. The premiere of “Joe Rogan Questions Everything” saw him looking into the question of whether Bigfoot really exists.
He came up with some pretty compelling evidence along the way. Our knowledge of DNA has advanced tremendously in recent decades, and putting that knowledge toward the myth of Bigfoot provided some interesting results. Dr. David Swenson, a biochemist, examined DNA that was allegedly from a Bigfoot.
“There is an unknown animal that appears to be some kind of a hybrid between a human and something else,” Dr. Swenson said.

Last week, an attempted hack on Apple’s developer portal resulted in some downtime as the company pulled the system to investigate the issue. This led to the portal being taken down for an extended period of time, of which Apple has issued a status update advising its members of where it is in the process and what its plans entail.
Following the portal’s downtime, Apple revealed that no user data had been taken, and a bit after that security researchers Ibrahim Balic took credit for the breach, saying that he did so to expose vulnerabilities with the system. He then reported his findings to Apple, and assured users that he has not used any of the data he had access to via his activities.
Said the Apple statement: “We apologize for the significant inconvenience caused by our developer website downtime. We’ve been working around the clock to overhaul our developer systems, update our server software, and rebuild our entire database. While we complete the work to bring our systems back online, we want to share the latest with you.”
The statement goes on to detail the company’s plans, which starts with rolling out the updated Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles, Apple Developer Forums, Bug Reporter, pre-release developer libraries, and the videos. Following that, Apple will then put the software downloads back in place, allowing developers to nab iOS 7 and other files.
Once all of those are back in place, the rest of the updated system will be made live again. In order to make it easier for developers and curious parties to follow along, Apple has put up a status page with green lights showing how far along in its process it is. As already mentioned, memberships that expire when the portal is down will automatically be extended.
