T-Mobile rolled out its 4G LTE network earlier this year, stating ambitious goals for coverage by the middle of the year, something it ultimately surpassed. It has been a couple of weeks since the carrier’s New York City event, and the company has made a new announcement: most of its 4G LTE network will be
Nokia Lumia 1020 Teardown Image
Posted in: Today's ChiliNokia’s Lumia 1020 has been touted by the Finnish smartphone manufacturers themselves to be a “camera first” device, and phone second. Well, you cannot help but notice that the Nokia Lumia 1020 flagship smartphone is one impressive piece of hardware engineering. Definitely offering improvements in different ways compared to its predecessor, the Nokia Lumia 920, it is the impressive 41-megapixel Pureview camera sensor that undoubtedly is the talk of the smartphone world, and when you throw in double the amount of RAM while retaining all of the connectivity features with a shrinking of measurements in some parts that will see approximately 30 grams of its overall weight shed, the Nokia Lumia 1020 is definitely more than a looker, and it might be a fantastic introductory Windows Phone 8 device.
Do check out an image of the teardown above, where the rest of it can be spotted from a Chinese site. Hopefully the alleged early color accuracy issues will not hinder purchases by potential customers.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is a damn fine phone. It’s fast, it’s big, it’s thin and it’s completely deserving to be in most people’s pockets. But apparently that’s not enough for Samsung. Samsung has gotten caught cheating benchmark tests to make itself look better. Basically, the S4 is specifically tweaked to be better at benchmarking than anything else it does.

The Comedy Central app is a touch more adult-oriented of course, with a focus on the channel’s stand-up offerings. Dubbed “CC: Stand-up,” the app boasts more than 6,000 videos of routines from around 700 comedians. So whether you’re into Aziz Ansari or Spongebob Squarepants, you’ll be able to get your fix via Xbox Live starting today.

A DSLR is a hefty investment, and as such not all photographers are inclined to run out and update to the newest technology. WiFi-enabled cameras offer a very convenient feature, however: the ability to use a tablet or smartphone as a remote control and portable view finder. For DSLR owners who want the same feature,
Adventurous foodies are likely familiar with the concept of snout to tail dining, which incorporates the entire animal — even the exotic bits — into recipes that stray from the norm. Soon enough, OpenTable may offer a different take on start-to-finish dining by incorporating payments into its restaurant reservation platform. The system is said to still be in testing, which would require that diners merely open the OpenTable app, select a tip amount and hit the payment button. As a boon to restaurant owners, OpenTable isn’t planning on taking a cut from the transaction; instead, it’s looking to attract and retain users, and perhaps stay ahead of emerging competitors such as Groupon and Yelp. According to The New York Times, OpenTable will use an in-house payment system that it acquired this year from JustChalo. If all goes well, the new feature will be introduced to San Francisco by year’s end, with other markets to follow. Apparently, OpenTable is still hammering out its notification system, so as to avoid unpleasant scenarios such as accusing paying customers of skipping out on the bill.

To keep track of all the crazies, information design agency Accurat created a graphic to show just who has been predicting the end of the world.
LG isn’t shy about its love of classical music, having once struck a deal with Ennio Morricone to put his tunes on the company’s phones. However, we’ll still admit to being caught off-guard by its next collaboration: when the G2 is officially revealed on August 7th, it will include the dulcet sounds of the Vienna Boys’ Choir. The Android flagship will ship with nine ringtones and five alerts sung by the youth group, along with four musical chimes. Beautiful devices need beautiful music, LG argues. Whether or not that’s really true, you won’t have to wait long to hear the end result. LG will post free music on the G2’s teaser site on August 1st, including a choral version of its standard ringtone.
