Holy Wow This Guy Made Insane Wolverine Claws That Destroy Everything

On the list of comic book hero abilities I dream about magically waking up with one day, Wolverine’s claws were probably squeezed right between Superman’s flying and Bruce Wayne’s women. One of those have practically become reality. These steel Wolverine claws are so fantastically perfect that you could fight Wolverine himself with it. And maybe even win.

Sony SmartWatch 2 to be released in September

Back in June, Sony revealed its SmartWatch 2 SW2, and though it did not reveal when the watch would be hitting shelves, word had initially surfaced that the device would be arriving on July 15. That turned out to not be the case, however, and it has been revealed that the actual launch date will be in September, giving us at least another month of waiting.

The initial release date had come by way of some UK retailers, Clove in particular, which had announced when the smartwatch would be shipping. Clove later revised that release date, stating that it was in fact destined for release at a later date, and that we wouldn’t be seeing it for a bit longer. That date will be in September, but when precisely is still unknown.

Clove and similar retailers have been accepting pre-orders for the smartwatch for awhile now, but reportedly the information given by their Sony distribution arm had an incorrect date. Those interested in the smartwatch can pre-order it now, and will receive it later on this fall. The price is about $180 USD / 120 pounds in the UK.

As far as specs go, the Sony SmartWatch 2 features a 1.6-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 220 x 176 pixels. The brightness is automatically adjusted as necessary based on the ambient light via a brightness sensor. The smartwatch itself is made from stainless steel and aluminum, which is a shakeup over the previous model’s plastic.

In addition, the new version of the device will now meet IP57 standards for being both dust and water resistant, lending it a rugged edge its predecessor lacks. Connectivity comes in the form of Bluetooth 3.0 rather than Bluetooth 4.0, but that won’t have too terrible of an effect on battery life, which is rated at about 4 days.

Emotional Cheating Gives Way To Physical Cheating, Says Relationship Coach (VIDEO)

HuffPost Live tackled the touchy subject of emotional infidelity late last week, and relationship coach Yvonne Chase stopped by to share her experience.

She explains that she met a married man at the bank, and though their relationship started off with emotional infidelity, he soon wanted more.

“He said to me, ‘You’re so much fun to be with, you’re so much fun to talk to, I can share things with you that I can’t share with my wife,’ and he wasn’t sharing anything deep with me, he was just sharing plans for the future, ideas he had about business,” Chase said. “But the fact that he could talk to someone and feel heard… and that it was easier for him to have these conversations with me versus do the heavy lifting… and address his marriage, seek counseling and fix that. He wasn’t interested in doing that, he wanted to continue having conversations with me and then he wanted to take it physical.”

Lil Wayne’s ‘God Bless Amerika’ Video Seems Timely (VIDEO)

Lil Wayne released the video for “God Bless Amerika” on Monday night, a clip full of images of Wayne’s native Hollygrove, New Orleans. The community, still devastated by 2005’s Hurricane Katrina, serves as a poignant reminder of the failures of America’s government to rehabilitate impoverished communities that were damaged by the monstrous storm.

The video suggests that it’s not all that hard to draw a line from Kanye West’s criticism at the time (“George Bush doesn’t care about black people”) to the continued travesty that is the reality of life on the ground in Hollygrove.

The “God Bless Amerika” video made waves when it was being filmed because Wayne appeared to be stomping on an American flag. Though such an act wouldn’t necessarily have been out of line with the thematic elements of the song, it turns out that rapper was honest when he said the fallen flag wouldn’t be depicted in the final product.

US government to declassify Yahoo legal docs on FISA, secret court opinion

US government to declassify Yahoo legal docs on FISA, secret court opinion

Yahoo had claimed that it fought against PRISM since 2008, and now it’s about to land previously-secret court documents to prove it. A Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court has ruled that the US Department of Justice must declassify the firm’s legal briefs and the court’s decision on the search giant’s attempts to resist the government’s request for user data. Uncle Sam has until July 29th to provide an estimate of how long the declassification will take, and the docs can still have classified portions redacted. As The Daily Dot notes, this is only the second known civilian victory in a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) courtroom, and it follows a win by the EFF just a few days ago. Mayer and Co. still won’t be able to outline exactly how many FISA data requests they’ve gotten, but we’ll take any transparency from the federales we can get.

Google Play for web gets the refreshed interface promised at IO 2013

Back at its I/O 2013 developer conference, Google pledged that it would be bringing the mobile design of Google Play to its internet portal. Today, that change has finally rolled out into the world wide web, and with it comes the tiled interface that’s become so familiar to Android users. Of course, with the added real estate the web provides, Google has also added the left side navigation that’s become so popular on its other services — to allow folks easy access to the different categories of digital (and physical) goods it offers. Head on down to the source and see for yourself.

Poll: Bob McDonnell’s Approval Rating Falls

Scandal-plagued Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell’s (R) approval rating has dropped 12 percentage points in the past two months, according to a survey released Monday by the Democratic firm Public Policy Polling.

A widening FBI probe into gifts from a corporate donors has driven McDonnell’s job rating underwater for the first time in his tenure, according to PPP, with 36 percent of voters approving and 41 percent disapproving. In May, McDonnell had a 44 percent approval rating.

Virginians’ approval of McDonnell, once mentioned as a possible vice presidential running mate for Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney last year, has fallen from 73 percent to 62 percent among Republicans, and from 22 percent to 14 percent among Democrats.
